Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing reporting methods, recommend improvements, and implement approved changes.
- Develop new reporting methods based on assessments of new reporting requests.
- Analyze and organize large datasets related to purchasing and contracts using Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
- Analyze and summarize data through presentations, data visualizations, and written reports for staff and leadership at all levels.
- Develop and produce contract spending reports at the request of the Director of Data Analysis, various program offices, and senior NYCPS and City officials.
- Develop and execute quantitative testing models to ensure data integrity in reporting.
- Utilize and become proficient in systems such as PASSPort, FMS, the Contract Tracking System (CTS), the Contract Processing System (CPS), and FAMIS.
- Aid in documenting issues and gathering requirements for system enhancements.
- Lead data cleansing and standardization efforts within the Contract Tracking System (CTS), including ongoing data quality reviews.
- Enhance tracking systems for new and replacement procurements, and monitor the progress and cycle times of procurements currently underway.
- Provide information to the Mayor's Office of Contract Services for its annual procurement indicators report and other publicly reported data.
- Support or manage a variety of special projects requiring a high degree of research, analysis, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in data analysis.
- Or a high school graduation or its equivalent and six (6) years of experience in data analysis.
- Plus high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Power BI.
- Experience in data analytics and reporting, with the ability to perform independent research, data collection, and analysis.
- Experience maintaining data integrity and improving processes to increase data quality.
- Experience extracting, cleaning, and presenting data from diverse enterprise systems.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
- A self-starter with a sense of urgency who can adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of financial, accounting, and procurement management systems; experience with FMS and/or PASSPort is preferred.
- Understanding of, or interest in, public sector procurement.
- Demonstrated commitment to education and public service.
Salary
$40 hourly rate
