About the role

The Data Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. This position serves as a resource across the health system to ensure data integrity, provide requested reports, develop and maintain processes, manage system inquiries, and provide automated reports to key system stakeholders (e.g., administration, strategy, physician group). The role is critical for the development of system-wide care reports and ensures appropriate data interface with major systems (e.g., EPIC, FAD, Lawson).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains detailed knowledge of assigned system(s) and extracts data and writes reports as needed.
  • Develops reports to generate metrics related to assigned functional areas.
  • Develops and maintains necessary reports for use by key stakeholders, including system and hospital administration, strategy, physician groups, recruitment, etc.
  • Regularly analyzes data integrity to ensure accuracy, consistency, and optimization of information transmitted to internal and external electronic systems (e.g., managed care organizations, accreditation, and governmental bodies).
  • Establishes rules regarding data and educates staff on the same.
  • Calculates basic statistics (mean, median, percentiles, control limits, standard deviations, t-tests) using Excel or other tools and validates them.
  • Produces charts, graphs, and other visual depictions of data to convey meaning accurately and compellingly.
  • Develops and programs the "push" of reports to ensure data integrity for external stakeholders.
  • Maximizes opportunities to "push" standard reports to key stakeholders and enables stakeholders to "pull" reports as appropriate.
  • Manages training initiatives for new functionality, enhancements, and continuous improvement among system users.
  • Triages system, data, and process problems and questions effectively, escalating to appropriate individuals.
  • Actively participates on committees, task forces, and work groups as requested.
  • Participates in system planning, implementation, and testing.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all NMHC business-related medical staff information.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a busy atmosphere, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Recommends process improvements and efficiencies as appropriate.
  • Participates in regular huddles and departmental key performance indicators.
  • Handles a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks independently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage assigned or similar comprehensive data applications.
  • Skills in working with relational databases and information systems, including system data integrity.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding systems data flow, interfaces, quality control, and use of data dictionaries.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and meticulous accuracy in producing and validating reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to write in Crystal Report Writing (if required).
  • Process development, improvement, and management experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure high-quality communication, documentation, and interaction with physicians, healthcare administration, and other agencies.
  • Organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Two years of system administration experience with a similar product.
  • Preferred: Experience with systems such as Morrissey MSOW, Apogee TheraDoc, MedMined, Midas, RL Solutions, Morrissey peer review, UHC core measures, and Clinical Data Base.
