Data Analyst
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of data architects, data analysts, and cost analysts to support the Department of Homeland Security in developing and implementing a data management and analysis solution for government cost and acquisition analysts.
- Apply rational, systematic, science-based techniques, advanced analytical methods, and critical thinking to help inform clients and improve decision-making in complex processes.
- Obtain, integrate, and report client data, and develop and apply analytic methodologies and principles.
- Lead the application of analytic techniques and help define project objectives and strategic direction.
- Resolve complex problems which require an in-depth knowledge of analytic methodologies and principles.
- Create and promulgate data collection templates, maintain databases, and work with various analytical tools.
- Analyze acquisition data, formulate conclusions and recommendations, design and develop materials, and evaluate effectiveness in accordance with stated guidelines, speculations, and models.
- Conduct research, data gathering, and technical reviews.
- Produce written deliverables to include reports, spreadsheets, databases, formal process mapping, technical design, system testing, and implementation activities.
- Troubleshoot issues in reports related to data and assimilate, integrate, and interface technical knowledge with business/system requirements.
- Manage client relationships and expectations.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen and eligible for a DHS suitability clearance
- 2+ years of professional experience in the area of data science or data engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics with 24 semester credit hours in quantitative analysis
- Validated analytical, creative, and effective problem solving skills, with the ability to present solutions both in written and oral format
- Solid understanding of applying mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods to real world problems
- Desired Experience using R, Tableau, or Power BI
- Experience using ACEIT
- Active DHS suitability or DoD Secret clearance
