Data Analyst

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Data Gathering and Reporting: Assist in retrieving data from various sources and build reports and dashboards to visualize key metrics to system leaders.
• Participate in data management tasks by querying and merging datasets.
• Learn and develop proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Power BI, R, SQL, Microsoft Office, Python, and others.
• Data Extraction And Utilization: Collaborate with the team to develop a fundamental understanding of data sources and the data extraction process.
• Aid in data extraction and utilization efforts.
• Assist with contextualizing data and data flow automation.

Collaboration And Learning

• Work closely with data analysts and leaders to understand business needs and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
• Contribute to innovative data analysis projects and support the organization's journey towards becoming more data-driven.

Data Analysis Support

• Learn and provide support for data analysis tasks, such as data cleaning and statistical analysis.
• Contribute to data-driven hypothesis testing, A/B testing, regression analysis, and other statistical methods.

Effective Communication

• Participate in meetings and assist in presenting basic reports, findings, and analyses to stakeholders within the system.

• Maintain and/or communicate to appropriate party function backlog at a set time.
• Education new staff regarding regulations or requirements of those functions that relate to their areas or departments, as directed.
• Train student interns in the department, as directed.

Participation In Hospital Committees

• Participate in hospital committees, performance improvement team meetings, and team projects, as directed.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, math/statistics, economics, psychology, etc.).
• 1-3 years of experience in a data analysis-related role.
• Strong interest in data analysis and a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• Experience with at least one statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata, etc.).
• Experience querying data using SQL scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric is highly preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A meticulous and detail-oriented approach.
