About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team in Sanger, CA.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.
- Create visually appealing and user-friendly reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Develop and optimize data models using Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Clean, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources for analysis.
- Connect Power BI to various data sources (e.g., SQL databases, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms).
- Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and other data governance practices to ensure data security and compliance.
- Manage user access and permissions for Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Create documentation and best practices for Power BI development and usage.
- Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data refresh, report rendering, and performance.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver solutions that meet business goals.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, tools, and industry trends.
- Recommend and implement new technologies and techniques to improve data analytics capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile).
- Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of ETL/data integration and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
- Effective communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300).
- Experience with advanced analytics or machine learning in Power BI.
- Python or R experience.
- Power BI embedded or custom visuals.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily desk-based work using a computer and phone for extended periods.
- Able to occasionally lift or move items up to 30 lbs.
- Onsite Monday–Friday, with flexibility based on business needs.
