DART - Nurses
About the role
The Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) Nurses are needed to provide medical care in response to disasters. Samaritans Purse responds quickly to meet the critical needs of victims of various disasters.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures during international DART surgical responses.
- Provide clinical care to patients in emergency and triage settings during international DART medical responses.
- Provide clinical care to patients in severe or unstable condition during international DART medical responses.
- Provide clinical care to patients in both out-patient clinics and in-patient hospital settings during international DART medical responses.
- Provide clinical care to pediatric patients in both out-patient clinics and in-patient hospital settings during international DART medical responses.
- Care for women and newborns and ongoing evaluation and nursing care of all OB patients through their discharge during international DART medical responses.
Requirements
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
Minimum two years nursing experience in a hospital setting, of which at least one year is in the specialty field.
Relevant clinical experience within the last five years is required.
Completion of accredited training as a Registered Nurse with current active U.S. licensure is required.
Able to serve within a very fast-paced environment, 7 days/week for extended hours while on deployment.
Available on short notice for immediate 3-4 week deployment, 1-2 times/year.
Ability to problem solve and think critically in high stress, low-resourced environments.
Demonstrated travel, volunteer or work experience in developing countries.
Highly detail-oriented in all areas of work.
Willingness to work in unstable, insecure areas.
Ability to work as a member of a team, particularly cross-culturally.
Qualifications

- Licensed in a Samaritan's Purse Affiliate Office location will be reviewed by the appropriate hiring team upon completion of the application.
