Dance Teaching Opportunities

Independent instructional contractor opportunities to provide dance enrichment services for K–12 students at partner schools. Assignments vary by location, grade level, schedule, and program objectives.

About the Role

Concorde Education seeks independent contractors to teach dance enrichment after school. Contractors may choose to apply for, accept, or decline available opportunities. Assignments typically last about 10 weeks and involve 1–4 instructional hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate dance instruction and movement sessions.
• Teach foundational dance techniques, rhythm, coordination, choreography, and creative movement.
• Adapt instruction based on student experience levels, site requirements, and available space.
• Guide students in developing dance routines, performance skills, teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and age-appropriate learning environment.
• Communicate assignment-related needs or concerns with Concorde and school staff.
• Complete a brief session completion form after each scheduled session.
• Follow applicable site safety, visitor, technology, emergency, and student-protection procedures.

• Hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, cultural, or creative dance styles.
• Rhythm, musicality, timing, and movement coordination.
• Fundamental dance technique and body awareness.
• Choreography, sequencing, and group routines.
• Creative movement, improvisation, and self-expression.
• Performance skills, stage presence, and teamwork.
• Preparing routines for demonstrations, showcases, or school events.

Qualifications

• At least 60 college credits (where required by the assignment or site).
• Experience with dance instruction, choreography, performance, or related movement disciplines.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or leading activities with school-age students.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom facilitation skills.
• Availability to meet the accepted assignment schedule and communicate issues promptly.
• Familiarity with age-appropriate instructional practices and classroom management.

Preferred backgrounds include educators, dance instructors, choreographers, performing artists, dance students, fitness instructors with dance experience, camp counselors, and youth program leaders.

Materials and Resources

Assignments may use school-provided classrooms, studios, sound systems, music resources, curriculum materials, and instructional guides. Contractors may use their own methods and materials if they are safe, age-appropriate, lawful, and consistent with the assignment scope. Reimbursable purchases require prior written approval from Concorde.

Pay

Compensation varies by assignment and agreed terms, typically $50+ per completed instructional service hour. Contractors may propose their desired rate, considering preparation, planning, commute, and materials. Payment is made by direct deposit on the fifteenth of the month following service completion.

Schedule

Assignments are typically after school, with 1–4 instructional hours per week over approximately 10 weeks. Opportunities become available throughout the school year.
