About the Role
As a Dance Teacher, you will provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in two or more styles of dance. The content includes in-depth knowledge and application of techniques or two or more dance styles (ballet, jazz, modern, theater, or tap), knowledge of dance terminology, and knowledge of basic choreography of movement sequences.
How You Will Impact Education
- Presents subject matter to students to maximize learning opportunity.
- Reviews student records in order to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student's abilities and needs.
- Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student.
- Demonstrate a variety / range of student learning modalities in each lesson.
- Utilizes diagnostic assessment of student learning regularly.
- Maintains accurate and complete student records.
- Frequently assess student strengths and weaknesses, provide appropriate activities to address student needs and generates progress reports as required.
- Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Assigns lessons, corrects student work product, and reviews oral presentations.
- Captures class field trips.
- Prepares students for school presentations.

- Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Student Information System (SIS).
- Strong student Proactive and takes Thinks creatively. Drives projects to completion. Insists on highest level of quality.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
- Minimum of 1+ year of dance instruction experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
