About the role
As a Damage Prevention Advisor at RECONN, you will oversee excavation sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and utility marking protocols. This full-time position is based in the Brooklyn/Queens area and operates in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure NY 811 is called for utility mark-out and responded to accordingly.
- Verify that excavation work complies with CR753 regulations.
- Work daily with contractors on CR 753, advising on corrective actions when necessary.
- Reinforce positive digging practices and public safety protocols.
- Inspect equipment daily and plan work activities.
- Perform data entry and use Microsoft Office products, basic computer functions, and smartphones.
Requirements
- One-year experience locating gas assets preferred (not required).
- Outstanding safety and quality record.
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; previous outdoor experience is a plus.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift heavy items up to 75 lbs for long periods on varying terrain.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners; customer service experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with technology and high-level organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
Pay
Starting rate ranges from $20 per hour for new technicians to $27 per hour for those with substantial prior experience.
