Dairy Queen Assistant Manager
Job Summary
The Dairy Queen Assistant Manager helps oversee daily restaurant operations, supports the General Manager, and ensures the team delivers a high-quality guest experience. This role assists with staffing, training, and operational standards while helping drive team performance and efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with daily operations and shift coverage
- Supervise, train, and develop team members and shift leads
- Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve escalated guest concerns
- Support hiring, onboarding, and scheduling processes
- Maintain cleanliness, food quality, and brand standards
- Help implement operational goals and improve store performance
- Step in as acting manager when the General Manager is not present
- Monitor labor, food costs, and inventory levels
- Aid in cash handling, deposits, and financial reporting
- Affirm compliance with company policies, food safety, and health regulations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to learn and follow company procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
Education and Experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in quick service restaurant or food service
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Working environment and physical requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to stand during the entire work shift
- Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products
- Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows
Travel
Must be able to travel up to 10%
