Dairy Manager

Overview

The Dairy Manager oversees the Dairy Department in one of Sprouts Farmers Market's most visited stores, ensuring peak sales and profitability. This role involves directing clerks, maintaining departmental cleanliness, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Give direction to clerks in the Dairy Department, ensuring they adhere to standards of presentation and sanitation.
• Process and stock products according to Sprouts dairy standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, engaging and evaluating team members through coaching and development discussions.
• Control inventory to recommended stock levels, removing out-of-code items and managing product freshness.
• Engage in regular in-store meetings, recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions, exercising independent judgment to address team member concerns.
• Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
• Communicate standards, expectations, and policy changes to team members, leading a team that delivers the finest quality of product and highest level of service.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction in a team environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Ability to perform general housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Standing for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Vertically transferring trays up to 5 lbs., from 7” to 64” for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transferring items up to 40 lbs., from 5” to 36”, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Adherence to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and achievement of a Food Handlers permit.
