As a Dairy Clerk you are responsible for delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. You will be exposed to a variety of retail tasks related to product handling, customer service, and merchandising. This role requires working in a cool/cold environment as the Dairy department includes cold and frozen items.

Responsibilities

• Greet and build rapport with customers.
• Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Respond to customer questions in an effective manner.
• Stock products and maintain product displays according to merchandising standards.
• Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products for our customers.
• Listen to pages for price checks from cashiers in the Dairy/Frozen department to assure customer service.
• Operate a baler (if 18 years of age or older with proper training).
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

• Must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Ability to adapt to the ever-changing high-volume retail environment while working in a cross-functional team.
• Capacity to take initiative when problems arise.
• Flexibility to adapt in a variety of situations.
• Advanced attention to detail with the capability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for dealing cross-functionally with peers and senior management.
• Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store.
• Work environment is typical of a retail store, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud.
• Must adapt and be comfortable working in a cold environment (Dairy/Frozen department).
• Minimal sitting is required.

Pay

Hourly wage range: $15.00–$20.10. Within this range, individual pay is determined by location and factors such as specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
