Position Summary

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Requirements

  • Retail experience
  • Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
  • Able to handle stressful situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Qualifications

  • Ability to promote trust and respect among associates
  • Ability to create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
  • Ability to answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
  • Ability to gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products
  • Ability to offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about
  • Ability to inform customers of dairy specials
  • Ability to provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered
  • Ability to recommend dairy items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
  • Ability to check product quality to ensure freshness
  • Ability to review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action
  • Ability to label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • Ability to report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
  • Ability to display a positive attitude
  • Ability to stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Ability to adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
  • Ability to reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management
  • Ability to practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
  • Ability to notify management of customer or employee accidents
  • Ability to report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational and cooperative manner
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
  • Ability to provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
