About the role
The SONAR Hull Arrays team develops, qualifies, integrates, tests, and supports contractor and government furnished SONAR hull arrays and sensors for submarines. Engineers assist in Systems Engineering efforts related to contractor furnished SONAR systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform Systems Engineering from concept to delivery, including hardware/software integration, component qualification, testing, construction support, and post-delivery support.
- Resolve fleet identified problems, assess obsolescence, and identify components for technical refresh.
- Investigate technologies, conduct trade studies, identify and resolve program risks, and explore cost reduction opportunities.
- Interface with NAVSEA customer, Naval Shipyards, NAVY Labs, UARCs, sub-contractors, and other EB departments and stakeholders.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense.
- Possession of a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical degree preferred.
- Experience in underwater acoustics, submarine electronics/SONAR system development, integration, installation, and testing.
- Understanding of design, build, sustain processes, EVMS, and design tools and processes.

- Effective engineering project management including budget, resource, and schedule management.
