D365 Functional Lead

Job Summary

A high-calibre D365 CE / Power Platform Functional Lead is needed to stabilize a delayed California state licensing-portal migration from Pega to Dynamics 365 CE. The project involves hundreds of user stories, a distributed US/India delivery team, and a fixed MVP timeline.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional discovery workshops with customer SMEs
• Document current and target-state workflows
• Convert requirements into consistent, development-ready user stories and acceptance criteria in Azure DevOps
• Work closely with the Technical Architect to validate feasibility and readiness
• Identify missing fields, approval rules, integrations, validation requirements, exceptions and end-to-end process steps before work reaches the offshore development team

Requirements

• Deep delivery experience in Dynamics 365 CE/CRM and Power Platform custom application programmes, ideally involving portals, case management, licensing, compliance or other complex process-led environments
• Not a generic Business Analyst or D365 Finance & Operations specialist
• Understand how D365 CE applications are configured and extended, and can confidently probe stakeholders when a requirement is unclear or incomplete
• Highly organised, fast, detail-oriented and customer-facing
• Work Pacific Time hours and consider FTE or contract-to-hire

Qualifications

• D365 CE / CRM and Power Platform implementation experience
• Strong functional analysis and user-story/acceptance-criteria capability
• Azure DevOps backlog and delivery workflow experience
• Experience supporting custom development, not only configuration
• Ability to work effectively across US and India delivery teams
• Strong client workshop, documentation and stakeholder-management skills
• Screen out Generalist BAs without D365 CE delivery depth
• Exclude D365 Finance & Operations / ERP-only candidates
• Exclude candidates who discuss requirements at a high level but cannot explain a development-ready story
• Exclude pure coordinators who have not owned discovery, backlog quality and developer handoff
