Responsibilities

  • Guide students through their academic day by meeting with them one-on-one over video during their academic hours, keeping them focused and on task, and helping them move through their learning at pace.
  • Mentor students as athletes by discussing the mental game, training habits, real recruiting, and balancing school with serious sport.
  • Build a real relationship with each student, serving as a steady, credible adult for guidance, accountability, and honest feedback on both school and sport.
  • Support students' learning by helping them navigate the learning platform, work through hard material, and develop study and time-management habits.
  • Reinforce standards by holding the line on effort, focus, and appropriate behavior, providing direct feedback when necessary and praising when deserved.
  • Communicate with parents and staff by giving clear, honest updates on students' academic progress, athletic performance, and next steps.

Requirements

  • Division I Athletic Background: Competed at the Division I level in any sport.
  • Real Experience Working With Kids: Worked with young people in a role where you were responsible for their focus, growth, or development (coaching, tutoring, mentoring, camp counseling, teaching, or similar hands-on work).
  • Judgment With Young Athletes: Know how to earn trust with a kid, hold the standard, give direct feedback, and read the room when something is off.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear and steady on video, comfortable running a one-on-one session, and able to give parents and staff useful updates in writing.
  • Reliable and Organized: Show up on time, follow through, and keep track of what each student needs next.

Qualifications

  • Recent Graduate: Finished your college athletic career in the last few years and the student-athlete experience is fresh.
  • Coaching or Camp Experience: Coached youth athletes, ran a camp, or worked with kids in a structured athletic setting.
  • Teaching or Tutoring Background: Taught, tutored, or led a classroom before.
  • Comfortable With Modern Tools: Comfortable working across video, learning platforms, and messaging tools without much ramp-up.
