Shift options:
- C Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (5am - 3:30pm)
- B Shift: Wednesday–Saturday (5am–3:30pm)
Compensation: $21–$22/hour. Additional pay premiums for certified/qualified operators:
- $0.50/hr for Forklift, Walkie Rider, Cherry Picker / Order Picker
- $1.00/hr for Reach Truck
Pay incentives (refer to policy for full rules and details):
- Attendance Incentive – up to $2,400 bonus for good attendance
- Referral Bonus – up to $500 per referral
- Hiring Bonus – up to $1,000
- Step-increase program – $0.50 raise after 90 days and again after 180 days (Material Handlers only)
About the role
The Inventory Control Clerk conducts cycle counts and bin-location audits, researches and reconciles inventory discrepancies, and supports all inventory-related functions in the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Count and reconcile randomly selected part numbers and/or locations daily.
- Accurately input inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
- Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records; recommend remedial actions.
- Spend 80% or more of the workday performing inventory-related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet; 20% or less at a computer terminal.
- Travel to and assist at other facilities as needed; reliable transportation required.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Utilize computer terminals to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
- Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
- Experience operating power equipment such as Reach Truck, EPJ, and/or Cherry Picker / Order Picker (required).
- Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
- PC literate with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and creating/interpreting reports.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
- Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Work in excess of 8 continuous hours when required.
- Work under stressful situations while maintaining accuracy and concentration on multiple tasks.
- Read and discern visual images with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
- Pass a physical exam by a licensed physician with no evidence of controlled-substance use.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
