Role Overview: Cytotechnologists perform diagnostic evaluations of cytological specimens, including gynecological and non-gynecological samples, identifying abnormalities and signs of malignancy. They provide on-site adequacy evaluations for FNA procedures and support ancillary techniques and interpretations. Responsibilities include assisting in training new staff or students, conducting quality control activities, and contributing to quality assurance and improvement projects. Collaboration and fostering an inclusive work environment are essential. Qualifications & Skills: Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or completion of an accredited program, with required licensure and certifications (CT or SCT, ASCP, and Florida Cytotechnologist License). Experience with database management, LIS systems, cytopreparation techniques, and specimen troubleshooting is necessary. Good communication, time management, adaptability, and familiarity with digital pathology are preferred. Key Duties: Diagnostic specimen analysis, sign-out of negative reports, on-site FNA adequacy evaluation, supporting ancillary techniques, training, quality control, and data gathering for quality assurance. Additional Information: This is a full-time, nonexempt role with competitive hourly pay, comprehensive benefits, and schedule flexibility.
