About the role
The Cytologist position is a full-time role working Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm at Bell Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Microscopically examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for cancerous and precancerous cells
- Assist in obtaining quality diagnostic samples
- Provide feedback on fine needle aspiration procedures
- Data entry
- Cytopreparation
- Specimen evaluation
- Participating in quality assurance
- Preparing cytopathology reports
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree
- Cytotechnology training
- ASCP certification as a Cytologist (CT)
- At least one year of relevant experience
Qualifications
- Follows safety protocols
- Maintains certifications
- Participates in continuing education
