About the role
Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for operation and measurements of parts going through OD/ID grind machines, ensuring machines run smoothly, and providing accurate measurements for processing.
Responsibilities
- Perform operation of cylindrical grind machines and the loading and unloading of product.
- Ensure measurements are accurate within appropriate grinding tolerances.
- Ensure proper selection of programs and tooling during production; promptly escalate program defects or shortcomings to engineering.
- Be alert to any changes in machine performance and operation; promptly report any issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform daily maintenance on machines; verify oil levels, coolant levels, and filtration systems.
- Support and maintain overall shop efficiency by keeping work areas clean and safe. Report all hazards or incidents to supervisor.
- Clock in with other team members for usage of shared shop equipment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience running CNC lathes and mills preferred.
- Proficient in basic shop math.
- Proficient in blueprint reading.
- Basic understanding of MS Office: Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Must be able to work on multiple projects while keeping details of each project clear.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours and break times.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to seek out additional work when time is available.
- Requires lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. or more and standing for extended periods of time.
