Cylinder Maintenance Technician
About the role
As a Cylinder Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift, you will perform visual and physical inspections on cylinders before filling to determine whether retesting or repairs are required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cylinder conversions, including de-valving, valving, stripping, and repairing valves
- Operate hydrostatic and ultrasonic cylinder testers
- Maintain required certifications to properly certify cylinders as retested
- Operate a forklift to support material handling and movement of cylinders
- Receive incoming cylinders, valves, and cylinder maintenance supplies
- Diagnose and repair cylinder neck leaks and safety-related leaks
- Inspect and identify defective cylinders, scrapping cylinders when appropriate
- Perform painting, housekeeping, and light plant maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in the gas industry or cylinder maintenance is preferred
- Able to lift and handle up to 40–70 lbs as needed
- Mechanically inclined with a strong, self-motivated work ethic

Pay
$20.24 – $29.69 hourly, depending on experience.
