About the role
You will instruct group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Teach group exercise classes
- Perform administrative tasks and training
- Respond to safety and emergency situations
- Set up, move, and store equipment
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of fitness or equivalent work/education experience
- At least 2 years' experience in group exercise
- At least 25 hours of practical experience as a fitness class instructor
- The ability to lead a fitness class and motivate and educate members in the field of physical fitness
- The ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
- Be at least 18 years of age
Qualifications
- Supports the YMCA’s commitment to child abuse prevention
- Reports any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
- Follows all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs
- Reports any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
- Completes all child abuse prevention training as required

Pay
$30-$40 per hour depending on qualifications/certifications for classes and $20 per hour for administrative tasks and training.
Schedule
Looking for help on Fridays 9:15-10:15am from June-August.
