Cybersecurity Test & Evaluation Specialist

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Cybersecurity Test & Evaluation Specialist to join our team in Manassas, VA. The selected candidate will work on developing state-of-the-art Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity systems for the US Submarine Force.

About the Role

This position is 100% on-site in Manassas, Virginia. While regular business hours are standard, some overtime and travel may be required. Most work will be conducted in the lab at the Lockheed Martin Manassas, VA facility.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current requirements documentation to develop methods and descriptions for validating requirements through test and other means.
• Develop, modify, and execute test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
• Conduct Verification and Validation for corrective changes.
• Support informal and formal test events, as well as other customer-driven test activities.
• Identify, analyze, and document software, firmware, and hardware defects, collaborating with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Assist in configuring the lab in accordance with relevant drawings and port maps.
• Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis.
• Conduct Informal and Formal Tests to validate all planned testable requirements.
• Communicate project/program issues to management as necessary.
• Install and checkout IA software and provide test and troubleshooting support at other testing site locations.
• Work with various engineering groups and external entities to define, document, analyze, conduct, and interpret tests.
• Identify functional issues and propose effective resolutions.
• Operate in a fast-paced, integrated product development team comprising professionals from multiple contracting organizations and DoD laboratory entities.
• Develop and analyze test cases while providing regular progress updates.
• Some travel required in support of test events in government labs and shipboard installations in domestic and international locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, plus 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 3 years of experience.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. U.S. citizenship is required.
• Navy experience as a Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) or similar (ST, ET, or IT) or Surface Navy experience is preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience with AN/BYG-1 combat systems is preferred.
• Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields.
• Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

Skills

• Proficiency in software testing and analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to assemble and test computer equipment.
• Understanding of networking, protocols (e.g., UDP, TCP/IP, ICMP, encryption).
• Basic Linux command-line knowledge.
• Experience with Strike Software (TTWCS, TCIP, and MDS) is desired.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $101,357.00/Yr. - USD $109,672.00/Yr.
