Cybersecurity Senior Engineer | Network Security Infrastructure - Palo Alto

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Cybersecurity Senior Engineer | Network Security Infrastructure - Palo Alto to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will focus on strengthening network security infrastructure and supporting critical security operations in a retail environment. The engineer will own firewall lifecycle activities, VPN support, vulnerability mitigation, and incident response to help protect the organization’s systems and users. This position also partners with monitoring and automation efforts to improve reliability, speed, and consistency across security operations. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage firewall lifecycle activities according to design specifications
• Assist with VPN deployment and troubleshoot authentication issues
• Mitigate network security vulnerabilities through patching and upgrades
• Respond to security incidents and manage vulnerabilities effectively
• Use monitoring tools for troubleshooting and project execution
• Develop automation solutions using Ansible and Python to enhance security operations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in network and security engineering or operations
• Strong grasp of switching and routing; Cisco certification is advantageous
• Understanding of cybersecurity; Palo Alto certification is a plus
• Hands-on experience with VPN technology, especially GlobalProtect VPN
• Familiarity with Linux OS; experience with Ansible or Python programming
• Experience with cloud services such as GCP, AWS, or Azure is preferred
• Enthusiasm for advancing in network security and collaborating effectively with a team

Pay

$120,000 – $160,000 annually
