As a Cybersecurity Network Engineer on our team, you’ll work with Booz Allen colleagues and government customers to develop and rapidly deploy the next generation of space sensing capabilities to deter attacks and provide critical information to warfighters. Your customer will trust you to test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify these systems, while identifying areas requiring urgent mitigation to develop advanced technology solutions. You’ll lead the sustainment, optimization, security, and lifecycle management of complex, mission-critical networks supporting government mission systems, ensuring high availability, secure data transport, and resilient communication paths. You will oversee, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT or OT network infrastructures to ensure maximum uptime and stability of mission-critical operations. You’ll also lead engineering analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of complex network configurations for sustainment activities, serving as the senior network authority to drive network sustainment, optimization, and remediation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sustainment, optimization, security, and lifecycle management of complex, mission-critical networks supporting government mission systems.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for ensuring high availability, secure data transport, and resilient communication paths across the sustainment portfolio.
  • Oversee, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT or OT network infrastructures to ensure maximum uptime and stability of mission-critical operations.
  • Lead engineering analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of complex network configurations for sustainment activities.
  • Drive network sustainment, optimization, and remediation efforts into maintenance and acquisition lifecycles.
  • Partner with government engineering and program management teams to ensure large-scale network sustainment efforts.
  • Ensure vital network security requirements are accurately prioritized and captured in government funding requests.
  • Provide input to the Risk Management Framework process and documentation.
  • Execute architecture-focused Cyber Risk Assessments or perform technical analysis of cybersecurity architectures.
  • Develop threat scenarios to support Cyber Tabletop (CTT) exercises.
  • Brief senior leaders and translate technical requirements to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer supporting Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, and hardware systems.
  • Experience with network engineering solutions and technologies such as routers, firewalls, switches, next-generation firewalls, software-defined networking, and virtual networks.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • DoD 8140 Intermediate Certification such as Security+, GCIH, GICSP, or SSCP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with space-based remote sensing systems or ground satellite operations centers.
  • Experience developing system security Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and defining baseline system security requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related technical field preferred; Master’s degree a plus.
  • DoD 8140 Advanced Certification such as CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, GDSA, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, or GCIA.

Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.

Work models include:

  • Remote: Generally expected to have cameras on during meetings. Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
