Cybersecurity Architect

Everyone knows security needs to be “baked in” to system architecture, but you actually know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface. As a Cybersecurity Architect on our project, you’ll lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks. You’ll coordinate with a dynamic team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. You’ll lead the team through a critical approach to network and systems design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to maintain a balance of security and mission needs. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by leading cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT and Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks.
• Coordinate with a team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate customer IT needs and future goals into secure and effective solutions.
• Lead the team through a critical approach to network and systems design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions to balance security and mission needs.
• Help customers overcome challenges by leading cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT and Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning.
• Architect Zero Trust solutions, roadmaps, and capabilities in alignment with industry standards, including NIST 800-207 and DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture.
• Lead product selection initiatives for perimeter defense, zero trust, A&O, AI, analytics, secure DevOps, identity and access management, or network access control.
• Work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO, to ideate, build, and execute cybersecurity capability maturation.
• Author technical documentation, white papers, and blogs on leading cybersecurity topics and concepts.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with cybersecurity.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical project delivery for large, complex organizations.
• 5+ years of experience in network architecture and design.
• Experience architecting Zero Trust solutions, roadmaps, and capabilities in alignment with industry standards, including NIST 800-207 and DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture.
• Ability to work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO, and executives to ideate, build, and execute cybersecurity capability maturation.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role.
• Experience selecting, designing, and implementing security tools and capabilities for large, complex federal or commercial organizations.
• Experience with innovative cybersecurity capabilities, including A&O, AI and machine learning, NGFW, and Big Data.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to collaborate with project and proposal teams effectively to incorporate cybersecurity solutions and develop high-quality implementation plans and roadmaps.
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Work models include:

• Remote: Generally expected to have cameras on during meetings. Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
• Hybrid: Expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, in alignment with leadership expectations and role needs. May also be required to work from or visit a customer facility.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
