About the role

The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for ensuring the security of sensitive data within the Department of Education systems. This includes monitoring network activity, responding to security incidents, and implementing security policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network activity and identify potential security threats.
• Respond to security incidents and coordinate with IT teams to resolve issues.
• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
• Conduct security audits and risk assessments.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in cybersecurity.
• Experience with network security tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of common cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• CISSP certification preferred.
• Experience with incident response and forensics.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
• Experience with cloud-based security solutions.

$75,000 - $85,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
