About the role
AV is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to work with the Cybersecurity team on a variety of Information Security tasks, including software vetting, compliance documentation, exception monitoring, engineering and automation tasks, and configuration support. You will manage your workload independently, support enterprise compliance, monitor and adjust priorities to requests, develop processes, maintain documentation, and collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams to ensure security configurations align with expected frameworks. This role offers opportunities to take on new responsibilities as capabilities are demonstrated.
Responsibilities
- Tier 1/2 Cyber help desk duties, including initial customer contact, issue identification, troubleshooting, and timely resolution with excellent customer engagement
- Vetting and review of software for inclusion on or exclusion from the production network
- Performing security posture checks and remediating vulnerabilities
- Assisting with risk assessment, system and communication analysis, and development of compliance processes and documentation (e.g., RMF, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC)
- Escalating issues to appropriate engineers or managers when necessary
- Maintaining and developing the InfoSec team’s process documentation
- Providing customer service and inter-departmental support
- Analyzing email communications and collaborating with the Cyberoperations team on suspicious communications
- Supporting and collaborating with the IT department and other teams as needed
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent work experience
- Active Security+ certification or required to obtain within six months of onboarding
- Solid understanding of multiple cybersecurity domains in terms of implementation and documentation
- Strong English language skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent communication skills and customer service
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements (NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, etc.)
- Strong time and task management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple ongoing tasks efficiently
- Willingness to learn and contribute
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of progressive experience in information security, cybersecurity, or equivalent roles
- Active A+ and/or Net+ certification(s) or equivalent
- Knowledge of Linux configurations and security
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, network mapping, and vulnerability analysis
- Experience leveraging scripts, automation, and/or data analysis to streamline workflows, increase situational awareness, and improve cybersecurity capabilities
Physical Demands
- Required to sit and stand for long periods
- Talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
