Cyber Technology Researcher TH

Castalia is seeking a Cyber Technology Researcher to support critical customer missions in Threat Hunting workflows. This role involves identifying, evaluating, and recommending technology solutions to meet customer needs in Cyber Threat Hunting and Security Operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct capability-based research into commercial and government technology solutions addressing customer needs in Cyber Threat Hunting and Security Operations.
• Evaluate technology solutions against identified functional and technical customer requirements, including hands-on testing of trial licenses and open-source capabilities.
• Stay current on emerging market technologies and products relevant to customer Cyber Security and Threat Hunting operations.
• Collaborate with other organizations to maintain an inventory of customer-procured technologies, tools, and data holdings.
• Engage with customer request submitters to clarify requirements, discuss potential solutions, and ensure alignment with mission needs.
• Develop and document technical requirements, potential courses of action, and deployment/integration strategies.
• Oversee the implementation of capabilities and support hand-off to deployment and operational organizations.

Requirements

• BS in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, or related field with at least 5 years of directly relevant experience; or HS Diploma with 7-9 years of directly relevant experience.
• 5+ years of direct experience in IT cyber security operations, systems integration, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of federal cyber security operations and related mission environments.
• Experience managing technology pilots and production transitions.
• Experience with cyber incident response and/or cyber red teaming.
• Familiarity with malware analysis tools and cybersecurity platforms.
• Background in cybersecurity tool integration and automation.
• Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to assess and mitigate operational risks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a Secret clearance and ability to obtain DHS Suitability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• PMP or similar certification.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II.
• Experience with CISA programs or similar federal cybersecurity operations.
• Experience with AI as it applies to data analysis and cyber security.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and integration automation practices.
• Knowledge of change management and configuration control processes.
• Experience managing integrations in federated multi-stakeholder environments.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture implementation.
• Experience with cloud operations and hybrid environment management.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $165,000.00 to $175,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by factors including location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Schedule

Full-time, onsite role. Normal office environment with travel as required.
