Cyber Systems Engineer - Level 3
About the role
The Principal Cyber Systems Engineer will support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Ground Weapon System (GWS) program. The position involves designing and developing classified networks for the government customer, focusing on cybersecurity best practices across various OSI layers.
Responsibilities
- Installation and configuration of networking equipment, troubleshooting, and implementing security measures for the networking infrastructure.
- Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps.
- Collaborate with software developers and vendors to diagnose and resolve system integration issues.
- Submit problem reports for errors found per Agile processes and coordinate daily integration activities with other Cross Functional Product Teams (CFPTs).
- Provide redlines to engineers and offer feedback to leadership.
- Document lessons learned, best security engineering practices, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 5 years of cyber systems experience – OR – Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 years of cyber systems experience.
- DoD Active Secret security clearance required.
- Must currently possess DoD 8140/8570 certification (e.g. Security+ CE).
- Experience on a large-scale missile defense system programs.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions.
- Capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies, object-oriented architecture, software integration and testing.
Qualifications

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $119,600.00 - $179,400.00. Overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus may also be available. Long Term Incentives may be offered for certain positions.
