Cyber Software Engineer

Nightwing provides technically advanced full-spectrum cyber, data operations, systems integration, and intelligence mission support services to meet customers’ demanding challenges. Capabilities include cyber space operations, cyber defense and resiliency, vulnerability research, technical surveillance, data intelligence, lifecycle mission enablement, and software modernization. Nightwing supports a U.S. Government customer delivering onsite incident response to civilian agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution.

Responsibilities

• Design, troubleshoot, and implement software code for end-to-end development and service integrations.
• Develop, enhance, debug, integrate, and implement software stacks for on-premise and cloud-based tools and services.
• Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications and pipeline workflows.
• Research, test, build, and coordinate the integration of new products based on user and mission requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend application software packages, integration, and testing tools.
• Automate deployments, testing, and builds using IaC toolings including Ansible, Terraform, Git-CI, and others.
• Improve documentation and development process standards.
• Ensure quality control of all developed and modified prototype software through rigorous staged testing and pipelines.
• Establish optimal configurations and tunings for COTS, GOTS, and open-source technologies pertaining to mission needs.
• Navigate and work within Linux and container-heavy environments including OpenShift, RHEL, Alma, and Docker.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active Secret clearance; TS/SCI preferred.
• Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
• 4+ years of directly relevant experience in applications development.
• Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle and code versioning.
• Experience assessing and integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
• Familiarity with installation, demonstration, test, validation, and evaluation of software, tools, and technologies.
• Operational experience with Python and Linux terminals.
• Knowledge of software automation, application development, and RESTful architecture.
• Experience with data ETL workflows for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Experience developing with containerization software including Kubernetes, Docker, and Redshift.
• Experience with IaC including Ansible, Git-CI, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
• Strong communication skills and experience interacting directly with customers in project environments or technical demonstrations.
• Ability to work collaboratively across remote and physical locations.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or related degree; or HS Diploma & 7–9 years of directly relevant experience.

$77,000–$163,000, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and expertise.
