About the role
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cyber Security Task Lead to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD. The Cyber Security Task Lead will serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for the DoD directorate. In this role, you will provide overall management and oversight of all contractor and subcontractor activities to satisfy program requirements. You will facilitate Government and Contractor communications, maintain compliance frameworks, oversee cybersecurity risk management, and drive strategic IT and security initiatives across project teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) to facilitate seamless communication between Government and Contractor leadership while providing oversight of contractor personnel
- Implement and maintain compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CMMC to ensure organizational security compliance
- Oversee regular cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and security audits to identify emerging threats and validate control effectiveness
- Coordinate tasks across project teams and manage cross-team dependencies to prevent resource conflicts and maintain operational efficiency
- Lead crisis response efforts during major breaches to ensure timely detection, containment, and recovery
- Oversee third-party security vendor selection and management while driving organization-wide cybersecurity education and training programs
- Assist the Government with financial, business, IT budgeting, and investment management processes related to contract execution
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT leadership, accountability, and strategic planning across IT management functions
- 5+ years of experience in IT workforce assessment, strategy development, and talent planning
- 5+ years of experience in IT budgeting and investment management for multi-year IT planning
- 5+ years of experience in Information Security and Privacy establishing agency-wide security programs
- 5+ years of experience driving Digital Equity and Accessibility for workforce technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
- Demonstrated experience managing third-party vendor selection and executing complex incident containment strategies
Clearance Requirements
Must hold an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
