Cyber Security Systems Administrator

This position is located in Ridgecrest, CA, supporting the AEWTTR mission by providing engineering support for design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices for the Navy’s Aircrew Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability. The organization designs, manufactures, integrates, and provides depot-level support for a wide variety of EW threat simulation systems.

About the role

The Cyber Security Systems Administrator will support the AEWTTR Cyber effort, including STIGs, scans, patch management, system configuration, and testing. The candidate will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the cybersecurity integrity of Information Technology devices, including Windows and Linux-based computers, network gear, embedded control devices, and other computing hardware.

Responsibilities

• Conduct monthly STIG and scanning of a wide range of IT devices.
• Generate reports and test results for the Navy RMF (Risk Management Framework) process.
• Address technical issues and problems using internal best practices and collaboration with colleagues.
• Develop solutions to technical problems requiring in-depth technical knowledge.
• Set objectives for own area to meet project and assignment goals.
• Assist other professionals with tasks and assignments as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 2–4 years of prior relevant experience.
• Must obtain a certification qualifying under DOD 8140 IAT Level 1 (e.g., CompTIA A+ or Network+) within 90 days of hiring.
• Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Experience with Windows 10/11.
• Experience with basic PC hardware assembly and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Highly organized with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Ubuntu or other Linux systems.
• Experience with Tenable Nessus.
• Experience with SCAP or other STIG tools.
• Knowledge of the Navy RMF process.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.

Pay

Pay Range: $48,100.00 – $86,950.00. The Leidos pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market data may influence the final offer.
