We're offering an internship where you'll gain practical experience protecting systems, operations, and customers. The Innovation & Technology team of Schneider Electric seeks a spring co-op to contribute to developing the Embedded Cyber Security program.

About the role

You will work within a dynamic and Agile team on cutting-edge technologies for the Industrial Automation Business.

Responsibilities

  • Researching, investigating, developing and testing cyber security firmware libraries, hardware and components, and AI security.
  • Conducting performance and analysis, and application development for embedded devices.
  • Contributing to the development of the cyber security software ecosystem using C, C++, Python, and Docker.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a BA/BS program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or directly related field required (seniors strongly preferred).
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python.
  • Experience with Software/Embedded Software Development on Linux environment.
  • Experience with GIT, CI/CD processes, and DevOps.
  • Strong curiosity about unfamiliar technologies and deep desire of learning new advancements.
  • Ability to understand product requirements and design possible solutions.
  • Ability to proactively attempt different solutions to solve the problems.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to deliver efficiently.
  • Effective communication abilities to foster team engagement.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts, including:
    • Encryption and decryption
    • Cryptographic hashing
    • Digital signatures
    • Symmetric and asymmetric cryptography
    • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management
    • Authentication, authorization, and access control concepts
    • Common security vulnerabilities and attack vectors
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis. The company does not provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $23.00 - $27.00 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
