Cyber Operations Lead
About the role
The Cybersecurity Engineer will design, implement, and manage cybersecurity solutions to ensure compliance with DoD requirements, integrating security into the DevSecOps lifecycle. Responsibilities include embedding secure coding practices, conducting security testing, integrating automated scans into CI/CD pipelines, implementing authentication, authorization, and data protection measures, leading threat modeling, monitoring and analyzing security events, executing incident response procedures, designing Zero Trust architectures, developing security policies, performing audits, maintaining compliance documentation, and collaborating with teams to integrate security best practices.
Responsibilities
- Embed secure coding practices
- Conduct security testing (static/dynamic analysis, code reviews, penetration testing)
- Integrate automated scans into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection measures
- Lead threat modeling
- Maintain compliance documentation
- Collaborate with teams to integrate security best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and technologies
- Enhance the organization's security posture
- Contribute to governance and threat intelligence efforts
Requirements
- Candidates must meet one of the following areas:
- Advanced Degree: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering.
- Equivalent Training: Completion of Control Systems Security Specialist (Advanced) Playlist.
- 10 years experience with cybersecurity.
- Expert knowledge in DoD-compliant cybersecurity engineering.
- Proficient with security controls, assessments, and security incident response.
- Must meet DoD 8140 requirements.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Active Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required, depending on position.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Experience with NIST and DoD security controls.
- Proficiency in security assessment and incident response methodologies.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team in cybersecurity initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay
The base pay range for this position in the specified locations is $135,200—$278,500 USD.
