The organization addresses challenges related to evolving cyber threats by using adversarial testing, model evaluations, and intelligence gathering to help engineering, safety, and security teams deploy AI systems securely.

The Cyber Investigator role on the Investigations Team focuses on supporting high-volume labeling and investigations of cyber abuse across various areas. The position is essential for assessing whether technical content presents real-world harm and contributes to maintaining the safety and security of AI applications through detailed investigations.

Responsibilities

• Review and label AI-generated exchanges to determine if content enables offensive cyber activities or constitutes legitimate security research
• Investigate potential policy violations using SQL and Python to query internal data and perform open-source intelligence (OSINT) research
• Document and communicate investigative findings to internal stakeholders
• Respond to escalations and on-call leads that bypass existing safety systems

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, Trust & Safety, national security, defense, intelligence, or law enforcement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Foundational knowledge of cyber threat concepts including data extraction, ransomware, exploits, or offensive security operations
• Familiarity with large language model systems and potential misuse in cyber operations
• Ability to assess the real-world harm potential of technical content
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data querying and investigations
• Capability to adapt quickly across diverse domains and abuse areas in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to clear an insider-threat background check

Qualifications

• Experience with threat intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
• Background in dark web monitoring, OSINT, or cross-platform threat analysis
• Professional proficiency in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or OSCP

Pay

Salary Range: $80,000 to $105,000, depending on experience and location. Fully remote work environment for U.S.-based employees.
