Cyber Data Scientist IV
Responsibilities
The Cyber Data Science Engineer supports the customer in Cyber Security by:
- Utilizing analytical, statistical, and programming skills to analyze large cybersecurity data sets.
- Developing data-driven solutions.
- Analyzing data sets from the customer's vulnerability scanning, auditing, authorization, and configuration management tools.
- Importing, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data and reporting actionable insights to the customer (e.g., using Tableau).
- Providing analysis and graphical presentations of collected metrics for IA compliance status reporting.
- Supporting and evolving legacy visualization and situational awareness tools into modern data-driven solutions.
- Collaborating with Risk Management teams to develop means to integrate, automate, and provide dynamic visualization capabilities for risk management efforts.
Qualifications
- Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with Ph.D.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Must possess DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM or able to attain within 6 months of contract start.
- Deep understanding of statistics and analysis.
- Skilled in artificial intelligence and machine learning (e.g., SageMaker).
- Ability to code in multiple languages, including Python.
- Knowledge of databases, data structures, and data architectures.
- Excellent communications skills – both verbal and non-verbal.
- Office Automation Skills – MS Office, MS Project, Visio.
- Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Infogram, Chartbloks).
- Experience with data transformation (structured data format/schema transformation) using common programming tools (e.g., Python, JSON, etc.).
- Experience applying statistical analysis to large data sets.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Experience applying AI/ML to security problems (anomaly detection, threat hunting).
- Knowledge of adversarial machine learning techniques.
- Model development for security use cases (user behavior analytics, network traffic analysis).
- Experience with security-focused data pipelines and feature engineering.
- Understanding of AI explainability and model interpretability in security contexts.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with customer's IA processes.
- Experience with ServiceNow and Splunk.
- Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security Domain.
- Familiarity with the RMF process.
- Experience with Relational Database Management System (RDMS).
- Experience with Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR) and SageMaker.
Pay
This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
