About the Role

Intertek is seeking a CWI Structural Steel, Welding, Bolting Inspector to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team at our Waukesha, WI office. This is an opportunity to grow a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work from construction drawings, specifications, diagrams, ASTM standards, schematics, and verbal/written instructions
  • Complete all required paperwork neatly and accurately, including daily reports, test reports, and timesheets in a timely manner
  • Record and report test results after performing mathematical calculations, making graphical solutions and representations
  • Communicate orally and in writing with engineers, staff members, agency representatives, contractors, and property owners
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment, calibration and adjustments as needed
  • Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
  • Inspect construction operations

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–5+ years of welding, QC, or inspection of structural steel experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment background and motor vehicle check
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation to and from the office
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and dress
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CWI certification with D1.1 experience
  • ICC S1 Structural Bolting and S2 Structural Welding certifications
  • Liquid Penetrant and Mag Particle experience
  • UTSW experience
  • MT, PT, UT, and/or RT certifications
