About the Role
Intertek is seeking a CWI Structural Steel, Welding, Bolting Inspector to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team at our Waukesha, WI office. This is an opportunity to grow a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.
Responsibilities
- Work from construction drawings, specifications, diagrams, ASTM standards, schematics, and verbal/written instructions
- Complete all required paperwork neatly and accurately, including daily reports, test reports, and timesheets in a timely manner
- Record and report test results after performing mathematical calculations, making graphical solutions and representations
- Communicate orally and in writing with engineers, staff members, agency representatives, contractors, and property owners
- Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment, calibration and adjustments as needed
- Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
- Inspect construction operations
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2–5+ years of welding, QC, or inspection of structural steel experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must successfully pass pre-employment background and motor vehicle check
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable transportation to and from the office
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Professional appearance and dress
- Punctual and dependable
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CWI certification with D1.1 experience
- ICC S1 Structural Bolting and S2 Structural Welding certifications
- Liquid Penetrant and Mag Particle experience
- UTSW experience
- MT, PT, UT, and/or RT certifications
