About the role
The AWS/CWI provides advanced technical oversight, ensuring consistent application of visual inspection standards. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving inspection procedures, interpreting complex specifications, and making accept/reject decisions on critical components. Level III inspectors may lead projects, provide technical direction to junior inspectors, and liaise with engineering, quality, and client representatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with API and ASME standards.
- Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition to the client.
- Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, or alteration of plant equipment to ensure safe operation within stated parameters.
- Offer technical input on welding and metallurgical issues as required.
- Provide guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in site safety initiatives.
- Willingness to travel if needed.
Requirements
- CWI certification required.
- Certification in API Standards 510/570 preferred.
- 5–6 years of experience or 4+ years of on-site experience.
- Additional API 653 certification a plus.
- In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
- Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.
- Local to Corpus Christi, TX or South Texas.
