About the Role

We are seeking an experienced technician to join a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room team within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level III Trauma facility. The ideal candidate will have strong cardiovascular operating room experience and be comfortable supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including open and minimally invasive cases. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome.

Schedule

Guaranteed 40 hours per week with the following shift options:

• 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
• 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM

Weekend and on-call requirements: Up to 2 weekends per month and up to 2 weekdays per week; holiday call may be required. No floating within the facility or to sister facilities. Block scheduling is not accommodated.

Responsibilities

Support complex cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures, including but not limited to:

Cardiac Surgery

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), on-pump and off-pump
• Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)
• Mitral Valve Replacement/Repair (MVRR)
• Tricuspid Valve Replacement/Repair (TVRR)
• Aortic aneurysm and dissection procedures
• Total artificial heart procedures
• Heart transplantation
• Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantation
• Minimally invasive valve replacement
• Transcatheter mitral, aortic, and tricuspid valve replacement procedures

Vascular Surgery

• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair
• Thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair
• Fenestrated graft procedures
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Peripheral vascular bypass procedures
• Femoral-popliteal bypass grafts
• Amputations
• ECMO decannulation and repositioning
• Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
• Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)

Required CVOR Case Experience

• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Repair
• Carotid Endarterectomy
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
• Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR)
• Endovascular Aortic Repair
• Femoral-Popliteal Bypass Graft
• Mitral Valve Replacement
• Pericardial Window
• Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
• Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR)
• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)
• ECMO

Preferred case experience includes General Surgery, Endoscopy/Laparoscopy, Vascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Transplant Surgery.

Requirements

• NBSTSA or NCCT certification: Required
• BLS: Required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures
• Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during complex procedures
• Strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and CVOR equipment
