CVOR Surgical Technologist supports patient care in the perioperative setting by assisting surgeons and nursing staff before, during and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities
- Prepares setup and scrubs new technology procedures such as (TVAR) Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, (LVAD) Left Ventricular Assist Device, Impella Implantation, Ablation Devices, Transmyocardio Laser, Cardio Assist Devices and Endovascular cases.
- Must have an understanding of the Heart Lung Machine and its function with the cardiovascular system in regard to cannulation of the patient.
- Assists physician in a variety of surgical, diagnostic, and interventional procedures being performed within a surgical or hybrid environment.
- Assists with diagnostic angiography and interventions.
- Provides support for and technical assistance with a variety of medical devices, imaging systems, and surgical equipment.
- Is a collaborative member of a multidiscipline hybrid team, who is expected to function in the roles of scrub, monitor, and assisting in the management of imaging systems.
- Specializes in both Endovascular and surgical concepts, which include Minimally Invasive approaches and progressive combined hybrid methods.
- Call required; must live within 30 minutes of the facility.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist or Associates Degree in related discipline or Work Experience in Lieu of degree.
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required within one year of hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- At least seven years CVOR and endovascular/hybrid operating room experience.

About the Facility
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients.
