PRN Shift Day
Responsibilities
- Maintains CVOR rooms in a ready status and assists in terminal cleaning and re-sterilization of equipment.
- Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles equipment, and initiates work orders for equipment failures.
- Checks availability and functionality of critical equipment and reports malfunctions.
- Assists with the setup of clinical use equipment such as A-lines, CVP, and Swan-Ganz lines.
- Transports patients following safety protocols and assists with positioning and surgical preparations.
- Maintains infection control measures and a safe patient environment, applying quality care principles daily.
- Assists anesthesia providers with clinical activities, including patient positioning and preparation for procedures.
- Ensures anesthesia supplies are maintained at adequate levels and coordinates with providers and management regarding supply issues.
- Anticipates and assembles necessary sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures.
- Cleans and stocks anesthesia machines and workstations, ensuring readiness for daily schedules and between cases.
- Remains alert to additional anesthesia needs during surgical procedures and responds appropriately.
- Assists with the setup of remote anesthetizing locations as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- 1+ year experience as a CNA, medical assistant, EMT, or PCT in a healthcare setting [Required]
- 5+ years previous CVOR/surgical services experience [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- On-the-job training and applicable course attendance to achieve competency in areas related to the anesthesia technical support role.
Skills
- Basic computer skills [Required]
- Knowledge of anesthesia machines, supplies, and related monitoring equipment [Required]
- Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician [Preferred]

- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
- Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]
- NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
- NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred]
- AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
- American Association Medical Assistants (CMA) [Preferred]
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) [Preferred]
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) [Preferred]
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) [Preferred]
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) [Preferred]
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) [Preferred]
Pay
$16.14 - $25.83 per hour
