About the Role
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to the specific requirements of the department and aligned with state and specialty scope and standards. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as a patient and family advocate, supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology for clear understanding.
- Educates patients and families on non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as lifestyle changes, healthy diet, exercise, and disease prevention.
- Prepares patients and families for future self-management.
- Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver holistic patient treatment plans that promote and support recovery.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) Diploma, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Critical care experience (required).
- CVICU experience (preferred).
