About the role

Barrow is a high-end, vibrant salon in Union Square seeking a stylish, hardworking, and reliable Assistant/Cutting Apprentice. Assistants participate in our weekly cutting apprentice program and receive exceptional educational opportunities and training in addition to the program.

Responsibilities

• Assisting stylists and colorists for a diverse range of client hair types
• Shampooing and conditioning, applying treatments, and blowdrying client’s hair
• Greeting and interacting with clients and staff
• Attending weekly in-salon classes and finding appropriate models to demonstrate acquired skills

Requirements

• Must be a good communicator and maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Remain collected and detail-oriented under pressure
• Time management skills

Assisting/apprenticing experience is not required but is appreciated. We are willing to train a candidate eager to learn and grow with us.
