About the role
The Cutover Planning Lead is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all cutover activities related to the AMI project system implementations. This position collaborates with the AMI project team, multiple systems integrators, and the LUMA IT department in planning, preparing, and monitoring all AMI-related migration to production events.
Responsibilities
- Works with vendors, business, and IT resources to effectively plan releases to DEV, TEST, UAT, and Production environments as required by project needs.
- Develops and manages detailed cutover plans and schedules for migrations to production.
- Collaborates with various business units and stakeholders to coordinate all cutover activities for seamless transitions.
- Aligns all cutover resources on cutover strategies.
- Provides regular status reports regarding cutover status.
- Coordinates with the LUMA Change Advisory Board to initiate and plan migration activities.
- Defines and documents business freeze dates, business continuity plans for cutover, business recovery strategies, and system ramp down & restart dates.
- Fulfills major storm restoring work and associated drills as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of IT experience in a similar role.
- Experience creating detailed cutover plans, including timelines, milestones, and task assignments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of electric utility experience preferred.
- Track record of working in large, complex transformation programs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar planning tools.
- Bilingual proficiency in written and oral communication (Spanish and English).
