Cut, Sew, Wrap Tooling & Equipment Mechanical Engineer
About the role
Write Statements of Requirements (SORs) and collaborate with purchasing to procure Cut/Sew/Wrap (CSW) equipment and tooling. Provide labor and First-Time-Through Order (FTTO) input for program pursuit quote packages involving cut/sew/wrap parts. Manage tool builds and deliveries from suppliers to ensure they are on time and at or below budget. Ensure procured tools meet Inteva specifications and coordinate their delivery and installation from the cut/sew/wrap lab to manufacturing facilities.
Interact effectively with Inteva team members and customers on a regular basis. Provide build concepts for cut/sew/wrap in new business pursuits and offer design guidance for product and tooling development.
Business Travel: Mandatory to support North American sites, including 50%+ launch travel and 20% non-launch travel.
Responsibilities
- Write SORs and work with purchasing to procure CSW equipment and tooling.
- Provide labor/FTTO input for program pursuit quote packages.
- Manage tool builds and deliveries from suppliers at or below budget and on schedule.
- Ensure procured tools are built to Inteva specifications.
- Coordinate delivery and installation of tools from the cut/sew/wrap lab to manufacturing facilities.
- Interact effectively with Inteva team members and customers.
- Provide cut/sew/wrap build concepts for new business pursuits.
- Offer design guidance for product and tooling development.
Requirements

- Good sketching and drawing abilities.
- Ability to read 2D and 3D designs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with instrument panels, consoles, interior parts design, process, and manufacturing.
- Basic understanding of Allen Bradley PLC programming.
- Comprehension of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience working with cut/sew/wrap equipment such as sewing machines, bladder machines, press lamination machines, and hand tools like heat guns and staple guns.
