Precision Castparts Corp. is the market leader in manufacturing large, complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, aerostructures and critical fasteners for aerospace applications. Responsibilities

  • Follow established housekeeping and safety practices to maintain the quality of the work environment under general supervision.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of castings per part grade levels. May use such measuring devices as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Work is subject to final inspection and check.
  • Capable to used main computer system to locate fixtures and mount to meet department efficiency criteria.
  • Adjusts equipment to obtain optimum running condition.
  • Inspects own parts for surface distortion and imperfections such as flow lines, air traps, bubbles, cracks, breaks, sinks, excess flash, non-fill and porous condition.
  • Maintains accurate records of work performed.
  • Meets all production and quality standards. Follow set OPC’s and QCP’s.

Qualifications

  • Training is provided on the job and may be documented by Verbal, Written, or Practical Testing.
  • Specialized training in the use, power settings and proper use of Band saws, Circular saw, and Jet-Arc.
  • Specialized Haz-Mat for respirator and caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, read, follow and interpret instructions on technique cards, code sheets as well as other verbal or written instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
