Customs Support Agent - (PGA Contact Agent; Mon - Fri, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

About the Role

As a Customs Support Agent, you will contact customers (shippers and receivers) regarding clearance matters to ensure compliance with federal regulations and the safe and fast delivery of the customer’s shipment. You will examine various documents including invoices and air waybills, and comply with government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Make contact with customers using all forms of communication to obtain correct documentation to comply with US Custom regulations and US Government Agencies
• Research tariff codes through government websites
• Process all requests for extensions and cancellation of shipments
• Comply with government regulations by supplying missing customer information
• Maintain lines of communication with all departments (internal/external)
• Review documents to determine information needed for Customs clearance
• Communicate with origin and destination locations regarding shipment status, special handling, and delivery processes
• Verify shipment documents for accuracy
• Assign shipments for correction
• Ensure correct and accurate information is transmitted in DHL Clearance

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Overtime is required
• 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred
• 1 year of experience in transportation or customs preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database, and web-based applications
• Good oral and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Strong email and phone etiquette
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge, including passing a criminal history records check, fingerprinting, and meeting all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Ability to provide all documentation necessary to support the badging process
