About the role
A growing global logistics and customs brokerage organization near JFK Airport is seeking a Customs Entry Writer to support import clearance, cargo release, shipment tracking, and final delivery coordination. The position offers hands-on exposure to air freight, ocean freight, customs brokerage, warehousing, and international transportation. Candidates must speak Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, or Japanese in addition to English.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review customs-entry and import documentation
- Monitor cargo arrival, customs clearance, freight release, and delivery
- Support tariff classification, HTS coding, and duty calculations
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, CFS warehouses, and trucking companies
- Communicate shipment status and delivery updates to customers
- Confirm freight and cargo availability
- Maintain accurate shipment and customs records
- Resolve documentation, clearance, and delivery discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- One year of customs brokerage, customs clearance, freight forwarding, import, or logistics experience preferred
- Candidates with relevant logistics, supply chain, transportation, or international business education may be considered
- Fluency in Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, or Japanese is required
- Fluent English communication skills
- Strong organizational and customer-service skills
- Ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven logistics environment
- Comfortable working onsite full-time near JFK Airport
