Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process customs entry documentation for imported goods
- Enter shipment details and clearance information into the customs system
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and supporting documents
- Verify or research HTS/product codes when needed
- Handle FDA, PGA, and OGA requirements, including “May Proceed” release updates
- Monitor Customs, FDA, and other agency holds, exams, and release statuses
- Follow up on missing, incomplete, or inaccurate shipment information before filing
- Communicate with clients, carriers, steamship lines, and internal teams regarding clearance updates
- Issue hold/release instructions when shipments must be held for agency clearance
- Correct documentation, bill of lading, and entry-related issues quickly
- Track shipment release status and support timely cargo clearance
- Hand off cleared files to post-entry teams for final processing
Requirements
- 3+ years of customs brokerage, entry writing, or import clearance experience
- Experience processing high-volume customs entries, ideally 100+ entries per month
- Hands-on experience with FDA/PGA, OGA, ISF, HTS classification, and customs release processes
- Experience using CargoWise, QuestaWeb, ACE/ABI, or similar customs brokerage systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing or inaccurate documents
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced onsite brokerage environment
- Proficient with Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
